Autumn: a season made for reading

It’s that beautiful time of year when the leaves turn to gold and copper, the nights draw in, and our plans for the evening involve snuggling up with a  book by a roaring fire (or at least a gently-ticking-over radiator).

October Titles Part IThis autumn we have some fabulous treats in store for you. For the Love of The Archers guides you through the country lanes of the world’s longest-running radio drama, while its companion For the Love of Classical Music provides answers to every question you can think of about the most beautiful music in the world, from Bach to Bartok and beyond.

Our new miscellany about the M25 showcases the many delights of this famous ring road, while So You Think You Know All About Football is the perfect gift for any soccer fan, packed with trivia and quizzes to test even the most seasoned expert.

Finally, The Girl With Nine Wigs by Sophie van der Stap, described in the Mail on Sunday as a ‘frank and funny memoir of her year with cancer’, is an inspiring read that you won’t forget.

October Titles Part IIMeanwhile, for everyone planning their Christmas presents, we have a whole host of delights lined up for you! For animal lovers (especially ones with a silly sense of humour), we have Animal Selfies, Doggy Style and Animals That Saw You Naked.

Language lovers will be entertained by The Little Book of Chat-Up Lines and The Little Book of Foreign Swearwords, while those whose humour is more loo-mour (get it?) will enjoy Jack Shit: Number Two, 52 PooDokus to Do While You Poo and 52 Things to Learn on the Loo. You will laugh, you will cry, and eventually someone will bang on the door because you’ve been in the loo for HOURS.

Finally, we have a new volume in our famous F in Exams series: the F in Exams Joke Book. Richard Benson is back with a brand-new collection of exam-paper blunders that merit a big red F for “Funny”.

Happy autumn reading from everyone at Summersdale!
