The Dalai Lama and Set Free

Set Free is the inspirational story of how Emma Slade, a high-flying banker, made the decision to change her life’s journey from finance to Buddhism, and last week a copy of it was presented to someone very special indeed: His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama. As well as being a committed nun, Emma has also started a charity that works to provide safe medical care, disability aids and basic amenities in rural Eastern Bhutan, and it was this work along with Emma’s story that a friend of hers wanted to bring to His Holiness’s attention.

While co-chairing a summit in India with the Dalai Lama last week, Emma’s friend presented His Holiness with a copy of Set Free and explained a little of her story as he had a flick through the photographs, which is when this picture was snapped! Making him possibly the most well-known person we have seen with one of our books.

Set Free, Emma’s journey from Banking to Buddhism in Bhutan, is available now.
